Walkertown provider

Leslie Paige Davis, MSN, CPNP

For more than two decades, Leslie Paige Davis has devoted her career to children's health. "I love taking care of children and seeing the smiles on their faces when they are healthy or feeling better," Davis said. "Those smiles are what drive me. I love learning new things, especially when it involves new approaches to helping a child feel better."

As a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Davis has years of training and experience in both primary and acute care for children. "I started my medical career with 15 years spent in an emergency room in Memphis, Tennessee," she shared. "I moved to the Winston-Salem/Kernersville area, where I grew up, and that's when I got into primary practice. While I enjoyed emergency medicine, I love establishing ongoing relationships with my young patients and their families. That wasn't possible in an emergency room where patients were in and out quickly. Now, I get to see my babies grow into healthy, happy toddlers and preschoolers!"

Davis works closely with Kirk Walker, MD, in the Kernersville office of Novant Health Forsyth Pediatrics. "Dr. Walker is a great support and resource," Davis explained. "But I want parents to know that I can provide many of the services Dr. Walker can, including writing prescriptions, administering vaccinations and suturing wounds."

Davis is also certified by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing, a designation earned only after demonstrating proficiency in emergency care. "I have four children," Davis said. "I understand parents need a provider they can trust all the time, but definitely in an emergency. I'm happy I can be that provider for my patients."

Her three sons and a daughter keep Davis busy outside of work. "I'm always running to soccer games for the younger ones, and I love to go visit the ones who are grown and out on their own," she said.

But even when the kids are out, Davis and her husband have their hands full. "We have a house full of dogs, cats, bunnies and fish," she said. "I love animals!"
